"I spoke too soon. Can't come home yet: I have a chest infection," the 81-year-old wrote May 8 alongside a picture of her sitting up in the hospital bed and smiling. "Probably tomorrow. But at least I'm resting. Love to all. Thankyou for your lovely messages."
One day prior, Miriam revealed she'd undergone a Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) procedure—"a common procedure that improves the blood flow in your heart by replacing an aortic valve that doesn't open fully," per the British Heart Foundation—while expressing gratitude to those checking in on her.
"Thanks to my precious friends who thought of me on TAVI DAY," the Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries actress wrote May 7 next to a hospital selfie. "I did survive and am still in The Royal Brompton Hospital certainly till Sunday. I am growing energy but it's still not quite me. I am putting this so you know how grateful I am for lovely messages."
Miriam also detailed her road to recovery by teasing her post-surgery plans.
"Slowly I'll get back to The Chase and then Italy, Oz filming in WA and return for 22 city book tour on Sept 7," she continued. "Loving hugs. MM."
