Between Prince Harry, Britney Spears, Jada Pinkett Smith and Pamela Anderson, 2023 was a busy year for celebrity memoirs. This year is shaping up to be similarly buzz-y.
RuPaul Charles, Tom Selleck and Crystal Hefner are among the stars with memoirs in 2024.
And there’s more to come from: Olympic swimmer Katie Ledecky (“Just Add Water” out June 11), artist Anna M. Tendler, ex-wife of comedian John Mulaney (“Men Have Called Her Crazy” out Aug. 13), celebrity chef Ina Garten (due Oct. 1), rapper Kid Cudi (“CUDI” coming this fall) and actor Josh Brolin (“From Under the Truck” out Nov. 19).
These are six of the biggest celebrity books of 2024, either released this year or coming up soon.
'Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself' by Crystal Hefner (out now)
This year's celebrity memoirs started off strong with an explosive memoir from Crystal Hefner, a former Playboy model and the third and final wife of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. The title comes from a request Hugh Hefner made to his wife before his death: “Only say good things about me.” But she shares many decidedly not good things about the controversial media figure, and in the process, divulges her own journey of self-worth.

'What Have We Here? Portraits of a Life' by Billy Dee Williams (out now)
At 87, actor Billy Dee Williams has countless stories to share about his time in the entertainment business, from making his Broadway debut at age 7 to becoming the first Black character in the “Star Wars” franchise. “What Have We Here?,” a memoir of his life and career, is rife with lessons and recollections of his experiences with iconic Hollywood names including James Earl Jones, Cicely Tyson, James Baldwin, Diana Ross, Angela Lansbury and Harrison Ford.

'The House of Hidden Meanings' by RuPaul (out now)

'Coming Home' by Brittney Griner with Michelle Burford (out now)
WNBA star Brittney Griner made international news when she was arrested and jailed in Russia in 2022 over possession of medical cannabis oil. She has largely kept quiet about her harrowing experiences in the Russian penal colony — until now. “Coming Home” tells the traumatic tale of Griner’s imprisonment and how her family and friends’ support kept her believing she’d survive and come home.
'You Never Know' by Tom Selleck with Ellis Henican (out now)
Tom Selleck is drawing the curtain open on his life, sharing never-before-told stories about his childhood in California, a "clueless" entry into Hollywood and storied career with A-list friends and co-stars. The Emmy-nominated, mustachioed "Magnum, P.I." star recalls his nearly six decades in the entertainment industry and divulges the life lessons he learned along the way.
'Rise of a Killah: My Life in the Wu-Tang' by Ghostface Killah (out now)
Dennis Coles, better known as Ghostface Killah of the hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan, gets candid about his upbringing, rise to fame and experiences dealing with physical and mental health issues. Written as though the rapper is retelling his story to readers face-to-face and littered scrapbook-style with old photos and song lyrics, fans of the revolutionary hip-hop group will appreciate this behind-the-scenes look at the making of music history.
